Holy Spirit Council #11548 in Meridian, Idaho under the direction of Sir Knight Fred Klein, Community Chairperson, continues to work with serving the homeless that seek assistance at Corpus Christi House in downtown Boise. On September 21, 2023, the second summer BBQ was held, serving lunch to about 200. Coordinating the meal was Sir Knight Tom Sorge, Brother Dennis Kuntz, and ten volunteers. Guests enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chips and beverages.
Under the direction of Sir Knight Mike Newell, clothing and needed toiletry items, advertised weekly in the church bulletin, as in needed, are collected from generous parish members and delivered by ten regular drives from the Council on a twice a week schedule. Brother Mike coordinates the effort of support with Rick Bullman, Volunteer Coordinator, at the drop-in center.
The Council also does one annual fundraiser, selling cinnamon rolls after masses, with all net funds going to Corpus Christi Houses to assist the homeless in the Boise area.
