The first FBO (For the Benefit Of) event of the new fiscal year, selling cinnamon rolls for Idaho Special Olympics and Coats for Kids, was another successful effort by the Knights of Columbus at Holy Apostles.
A crew showed up on Friday night to start the proofing process for 450 units, with four rolls per tin. Saturday morning a baking crew shows up at 7:00 AM followed by a crew at 10:30 AM that ices the rolls and places the label.
The church supplies labels that identify the FBO charities for each of the five approved events for the year. Brother Knights sell rolls at the 5:00 PM Saturday mass, the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Sunday mass, and for this event a few were sold after the 1:00 PM mass.
Father Vitalis announced the fundraiser at the Sunday 6:00 PM mass and over $300 ended up being donated even though only 12 units were available. Total donations by the parish came to $3671.
